So for the 4th Year in a row we have been asked to perform at the wonderful Tapas Fantasticas Festival, taking place on Sat and Sun 15 & 16 June in potterfield park, overlooking the Thames river and tower bridge, right on the Southbank. It’s a free festival filled with Spanish food, Wines and great music. Fun for the whole family! Fernando’s Kitchen band will be performing throughout both days. Remember to get there early to avoid the queue.

It has taken a long time, but we think it was worth it. The development of the music has been an amazing creative journey!

Info on the beginners course:
A basic beginners course to get you playing the cajon. We will cover basic technique and exercises, various grooves, time signatures and styles eithin contemporary music such as funk, blues, rock, shuffle etc and an introduction to flamenco and latin rhythms. Throughout the course we will also look at performance, improvisation, playing with other players and instruments, and ensemble.
Fernando’s Kitchen is currently finishing their first full band album, due to be out end January 2013! Having previously released a Fernando’s Kitchen single (“Gitano moro” and “Cara Mala” 2009) as well as their very popular Trio Album “Calle Compas”(2011, comprising of 15 tracks), they have been highly inspired and motivated to make their first full band album featuring only their own original compositions. Keep an eye out for this one, it’s gonna be massive! Pre-orders will be taken soon and the first 100 CD’s will be signed by Fernando’s Kitchen themselves!

The sound quality is superb and the playing action, the rebound and ease of playing the cajon is so comfortable with the bass sweet spot situated as high as possible, just below the “snare” for the best posture when playing the cajon. The separation between the highs and the lows is very neat and simply beautiful, needless to say these are fabulous for live playing, accoustic playing and recording! It is really almost effortless to get a great sound out of the cruz cajon!
